About the Bloomberg Corporate Web Portal

What is the Portal?

Companies can access and review some information available on the Terminal via the Bloomberg Corporate Web Portal (the Portal), enabling companies to gain insights into the data accessible to Terminal users.

Users of Bloomberg’s solutions are financial professionals such as fund managers, investment bankers, traders and financial analysts. Non-financial companies also use Bloomberg solutions for treasury and risk management, to monitor market data, analyze risk, and make informed decisions regarding cash management and investments.

What information is available on the Portal?

Companies can view their Bloomberg ESG Scores, understand how they compare to peers, and consult our scoring methodologies on the ESG Scores section of the Portal. ESG Scores refers specifically to Bloomberg’s ESG financial materiality scores. On the Portal companies can also review and, if needed, submit edits to the ESG data points they have reported publicly, and that serve as the basis for their Bloomberg ESG Scores.

What is the purpose of an ESG Score?

ESG Scores measure a company’s exposure to and management of material environmental, social and governance-related (ESG) issues that can have an impact on performance.

The financial community is increasingly aware of the importance of integrating ESG data into their investment approach to better manage risk and identify investment opportunities. In this context, data-driven ESG Scores are a powerful vehicle for making ESG data accessible and intelligible to users, and are a foundational tool for many ESG strategies, including integration, engagement and fund selection.

How many companies does Bloomberg score?

Bloomberg provides company-reported ESG data and calculates proprietary ESG Scores for over 15,000 companies in over 100 countries, covering 93% of global market capitalization. What are the requirements to create an account on the Portal?

Eligible companies may create an account on the Portal via this link . The Portal sign in is a shared institutional username and password, so only one account should be created per company. The email address that is submitted must be connected to a corporation, multiple email addresses can be added to an account, thus enabling multiple team members for access. We do not accept personal email accounts for account creation. The username that’s selected must be reflective of the company, not an individual contributor, and we require a primary contact on the account. Users can share the company username and names of people with account access.

Is there a cost associated with using the Portal?

There is no cost associated with using the Bloomberg Corporate Web Portal.

How can a company access its Bloomberg ESG Score?

Companies can view their Bloomberg ESG Scores, understand how they compare to peers, and consult our scoring methodologies on the ESG Scores section of the Portal. Companies can also review and, if needed, submit edits to the ESG data points they have reported publicly, and that serve as the basis for their Bloomberg ESG Scores.

Step 1

Access to the ESG Scores is free and each scored company can create an institutional log in on the Portal page, which is accessible here.

Step 2

Receive confirmation from Bloomberg on your login details and account approval.

Step 3

Once you’ve logged in here, click on “ESG Scores” under the “Products” tab to view your scores.
